Advent Day 15: The Word Became Flesh

John 1: 1-5 The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Today was our choir cantata at Antioch and there was one song that really resonated with me.  It is called "Come Make a Place" and the chorus says:

Come make a place
The shape of your love alone
Come make a place
Come make my heart your home
Jesus I'm empty without you
And you're everything I need
So come with your grace
Come make a place in me

What an invitation! Lord, come make a place the shape of your love.  And isn't that just what God did? God became flesh in the shape of a baby.  So innocent and helpless, yet He was love personified.  I don't think more needs to be said.  God said it all in Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus we're empty without you.  Please come make a place in us, now at Advent, and always. Amen
